It's been 8 years since my last post.

New Year!  So much has changed since I've blogged last.  Almost 8 years between posts.  We moved, AGAIN! Cliff notes...We live in Seattle now.  Dave works for a beverage distributor.  I stay home and do pottery.  Both DD's, now 18 and 20 go to LSU in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  Barley is our family pet, he is 7, so I don't think he was in any previous posts.  He is the best!

So the details...

A lot of things happened in 3 1/2 years.  Life is like that.  I wish I would have remembered to blog. I'll have to skip a lot.  Fill in the blank with Facebook and Instagram.  It was really cool going back and reading what was happening in our lives 10 years ago.  Now that we have "adult" children, use that term loosely, I can't blab everything that is happening with them.  And boy, do we have some stories.  That is where ByStander comes in handy.

We moved in June of 2018 across the country from Owings, MD to Seattle, WA.  We left our amazing Covenant Creek community with a fantastic friends like family situation.  Our basement was finally finished and our backyard really coming along.  It was a great place to be and very hard to leave.  But, life has other plans.   Julia, as an incoming junior and Maggie, as an incoming sophomore.  Tough transition.  But, which move wasn't?  They attended Bishop Blanchet High School, in Seattle.  Yes, Julia, BBHS is catholic.  She seemed to forget that detail.  Julia played volleyball and Maggie did not really get involved.  That is how she wanted it.  We got through those few years and now we are here...empty nesters. Empty nesting is a weird place to be.  It's liberating, but also lonely.  Parenting is not over.  We do a lot of that via FaceTime, lol. We have gotten to travel more ( I hop on work trips).  As I mentioned, we have the lovely Barley and we are so fortunate to have a close friend that keeps Barley when we are away.  Those of you with pets understand how HUGE this is!  The end of 2021 was pretty rough for me with the flu and Covid.  Hoping for a healthier 2022 for everyone.  Omicron, go away, no one wants you here!
